Venue: TCV Day School, Mcloed Ganj
Reported by: Mindu Tsomo (Intern)
Specific activity:
- Ice-breaking activity: Student introduced one another by highlighting one positive trait of their peer.
- Storytelling: Reading a book that called “Charlene loves to make noise”.

Key objectivity: To discovering inner strength, building social courage, foster mutual respect and support.
Total participant/Beneficiaries: 24 students
Resource persons: Ngawang Paldon (Project officer), Mindu Tsomo (Intern).
Activity overview:
- The session began with a brief introduction to our organization. To build rapport, students introduced the person sitting next to them, sharing one positive quality or trait about their peer.
- The session continued with storytelling and reading a book called “Charlene loves to make noise.”, and the moral of the story is true confidence comes from embracing your unique voice and sharing it to the world.
- To conclude, we conducted a “Whisper Game” designed to test the students’ listening skills and teamwork.
Methodology:
- An initial Ice-breaking activity was conducted to help students feel comfortable and get to know their friends better. We began with students introducing by the person sitting next to them, with their one good trait or quality.
- We utilized a storytelling method centered on the book “Charlene loves to make noise.” By reading aloud and discussing the story’s moral embracing one’s unique voice, we provided a conceptual framework for the students to reflect on inner strength and social courage.
- The session concluded with practical application of teamwork and active listening. The students were organized into four groups of six racing to pass a secret word down the line; the final student competed to see who could draw the most accurate answer for the win.
Lessons learned and Challenges Encountered:
When narrating story, it should be kept to a minimum, as student lost their attention easily. Always need to prepare alternative/backup games and activity, the original one I prepared for the session was not able to conduct because of time limits and had to do a different activity based on the time limits.
Suggestions for Future Improvement: Nil
Activity Status: Completed.
