On the 11th of June, 2024, ANEC successfully hosted a screening of the documentary film “Tibet, The Path to Wisdom” from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at Hope Cafe. The event focused on the nonviolent struggles of Tibetans.

Film Screening Methodology:
The session commenced with an introduction to ANEC and an overview of the film. The documentary follows Ani Rigsang, a Tibetan nun, who leaves her monastery in Lhasa to travel across Tibet in search of secret teachings that lead to wisdom. The film, directed by Hamid Sardar, highlights Ani Rigsang’s journey through various monasteries, such as Serta Monastery in Eastern Tibet, and concludes in Gebchak. It showcases the stunning landscapes of Tibet and includes encounters with lamas and yogis who guide her quest.

The documentary sheds light on the severe challenges to religious freedom in Tibet, highlighting the Chinese authorities’ strict laws and restrictions aimed at suppressing religious practices and undermining Tibetan identity.

Discussion and Participant Engagement:
The film sparked numerous questions from the audience about the current situation in Tibet. The session facilitated an active exchange of ideas, with participants showing great interest and engagement throughout the discussion. The event underscored the importance of sharing ideas and stories about Tibet’s struggles.
