Objective and overview:
The screening and discussion program on the murder in the snow was organized by the active
nonviolence education center (ANEC) at hope café in collaboration with Stories of Tibetans. The
main objective of the event was to raise awareness about the ongoing struggles and human
rights issues faced by the Tibetan people. Through this screening we aimed to create a small but
meaningful space for learning reflection and dialogue.
Methodology:
1.introduction:
The event began with a short introduction to Active Nonviolence Education Center (ANEC), its
mission and the work it does to promotes nonviolence and justice.
2.Documentary screening:
We then screened the documentary film title Tibet: The Murder in the Snow, which runs for
about an hour. The film sheds light on the dangerous journey many Tibetans takes to escape
Chinese repression and the tragic event that occur along the way.
3. discussion and feedback:
After the screening we shared our thoughts and reflection on the film. Participants exchanged
view on the emotional and political impact of the documentary.
Feedback was also given about the event promotion and advertising. we noted that more
outreach could help increase future attendance.
4. closing
The event ended smoothy with positive energy and appreciation for the film and the space to
talk openly. Though the audience was small the engagement was meaningful and heartfelt.
Lesson Learned and Challenges Faced:
The event showed that even with the few attendees, meaningful conversations can happen, but
it also highlighted the importance of stronger outreach and promotion.
Event like this are powerful way to raise awareness about important issue like the Tibetan
struggles.
