Specific Activity:
1. Game session – started with five minutes game to bring the attention to the class.
2. Story telling – The story of The Seeds of Compassion was narrated to the students.
2. Question and Answer session – discussion on the lesson learned from the story through
question and answer.
3. Creative drawing – The session concluded with dividing students in 5 groups for writing and
drawing the lesson learned from the story.
Key Objectivity: To teach student about the importance of learning about the value of the
compassion and nonviolence and also a reminder for them about his holiness teaching.
Activity Overview: Seeds of Awareness program at TCV Day School began with a warm greeting
and quick introduction of new intern and students, the session was continued with a game to
bring back the attention of the student in the classroom, followed by the storytelling of the seed
of compassion. The story highlighted the life of his holiness and how his mom has planted the
seed of compassion within him. The story taught student on the power of compassion and peace
within an individual by theme of strength and kindness, encouraging students to reflect on how
true strength is best expressed when combined with compassion. After the story, students were
divided into five group for the creative writing and drawing activity. In today session student
learned and express their view in the compassion and what is compassion to them through
discussion, writing in word and visual drawing of compassion they have witness and felt through
the story and day to day life.
Methodology:
• Firstly, the session began with introduction of intern and student felt comfortable and welcome
with both sides.
• Storytelling was used as the main activity, where the book “Seeds of Compassion” is narrated in
form of story about life of His Holiness and his teaching on strength of compassion.
• After the story, students were encouraged to share the lesson they have learned through the
story, His Holiness and compassion in their daily life.
• Students enjoyed drawing and writing session, they expressed the lesson of compassion within
the story, relating to their everyday life and beyond in form of visual drawing and writing in words.
