DHARAMSHALA: Principal Mr. Namdol Tashi, Upper Tibetan Children’s Village School(Upper TCV) had inaugurated a two-day workshop on “Principles and Practicality of Nonviolence” for the Student of Class IX and X of Upper TCV, School
The Nonviolence training program is being organised by Active Nonviolence Education Center(ANEC) at Upper TCV School from 28 – 29 July 2016.
Pointing towards the common principle of Buddhist philosophy and western nonviolent action strategies, Principal Mr. Namdol Tashi said, “His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s vision of the future Tibet is a demilitarize zone of peace and world peace. In exile, present generation and especially the school children are instrumental in achieving this noble vision.” He further stated that, the nonviolence is not a weapon of weakness rather it is the weapon for courageous individuals. So, with this workshop he wished students to be more audacious to practically put active nonviolence into practice.
Mr. Wangdue Tsering, Executive Director of Active Nonviolence Education Center (ANEC) thanked the principal of Upper TCV and school administration for their unrelenting support to ANEC.
“The workshop experience will enhance your understanding of active nonviolence strategy, enabling you to bring the practices into your profession and daily lives,” he said, urging active participation of the students.
Forty nine students from class nine and ten taken part and the workshop was facilitated by ANEC executive director Mr. Wangdue Tsering and staff; Mr. Thupten Gyaltsen , Ms. Tenzin Lhamo and Mr.Jigme.
