Specific activity:

1. Storytelling Session: introduction of the book “Tashi’s Dream”.
2. Drawing activity: students have to draw a picture of him/her future self.

Key objective: To teach children about the importance of hard work, effort and dedication to required to achieve their dreams.

Specific Activities: 

• Storytelling Session: Introduction and reading of the book “Tashi’s Dream”
• Drawing Activity: A creative session where students were asked to draw a picture of their future selves.

Activity Overview: 

• The session begins with a storytelling segment focused on the book “Tashi’s Dream”. The core moral highlighted to the students was how hard work, sustained effort, and dedication turn personal dream into reality.
• Following the storytelling session, the program concluded with an interactive drawing activity. Blank sheet of paper was distributed to each student, then we provided the pencils and colors and also some students brought their own. On these sheets, students were asked to visualize and depict their future selves, illustrating what they aspire to become or how they see themselves in the future.

Methodology:

• Through storytelling and drawing activity, we helped the children understand that hard work and dedication are the keys to making their dreams come true.
• The students were highly engaged, and their drawings included aspirations like doctors, teacher, scientists, artists and etc.

Lessons learned and Challenges Encountered:

A few students did not know what they wanted to be in the future, so they were unsure of what to draw. To help them, I asked them what jobs they thought were the coolest. This  challenge is completely normal since they are still young and just beginning to explore the world.
